WHS student recycles phones for diabetes fundraiser

Diabetes hasn’t kept Jenny Vandevelde from enjoying the sports she loves, and neither will Death Valley. That’s assuming the Westview senior raises $7,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which is sponsoring a bike ride through the blazing California desert May 6.

Second 4S Ranch elementary school to open in August

New buildings at PHS

NEW BUILDINGS — A new, two-story, 80,000-square-foot wing under construction at Poway High School will have 22 classrooms for academics and trade shops at ground level when it opens in June. The new building is just one of several upgrades in a $50 million remodeling project, which includes new heating, ventilation, electrical, plumbing and communication system for the 45-year-old school.
