Westwood Foundation rings up hefty donations

Westwood Elementary is wrapping up a remarkable year. Not only has Rancho Bernardo’s oldest school emerged from a two-year, $23 million renovation as a dynamic 21st century state-of-the-art learning center.
Now the non-profit Westwood Elementary Foundation’s small, but determined board of directors — in just nine months time — has raised more than $70,000 in funding for the school’s technology program.

More than 100 people crammed into the RB Community Council meeting last Thursday night where they peppered Fred Glick, president and CEO of Hootwinc LLC, an Oceanside-based Hooters franchise, with questions and comments.

RB Alive! celebration is Sunday, June 4

That’s what the Men’s Ministry at Christian Life Assembly in Poway had in mind when the group set its goal to make 1,000 dozen cookies — with some community help — for deployed Navy and Marine units stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
