At the Dec. 3 Rancho Bernardo Community Council meeting, two-thirds of 20 members were needed to approve proposed bylaws changes and only 14 members were present. Without unanimous consent, the council must re-consider some issues in January.

THUMBS UP to all those who assisted the children of Kristen Bedard, who died Nov. 23 after she was struck by a driver who was reportedly under the influence of drugs. The community rallied to help Bedard’s teenage children. Among those who stepped up to help were Kaminski’s BBQ & Sports Lounge, the Bellus Academy of Hair & Spa, Poway firefighters and the Southern Cruisers riding club, just to name a few. More than $16,500 was raised during recent fundraisers for a fund that will ultimately become a trust fund for the teens.
