Padres luncheon ticket deadline is Monday
The 13th annual Padres Spring Training Kickoff Luncheon, sponsored by the Poway Kiwanis Club Foundation, will be held at noon on Thursday, Jan. 28 in the ballroom at the Doubletree Golf Resort in Rancho Panasquitos.
Padres manager Bud Black and outfielders Will Venable and Kyle Blanks are scheduled to appear and will offer their views on the upcoming 2010 season. Also attending will be Cy Young Award-winning Padres great Randy Jones, the Swinging Friar mascot and two coaches from the 2009 World Champion Parkview Little League.
A live auction, silent auction and raffle are planned, along with a Western barbecued lunch. Music will be provided by Rob the DJ.
Tickets are $35, with proceeds going to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego and the club’s high school scholarship fund.
