Sobriety checkpoint tonight in Poway
A sobriety and driver safety checkpoint will be held tonight (Friday) and Saturday morning on Espola Road, according to a San Diego County Sheriff’s Department press release.
The checkpoint, on the 16700 block of Espola Road, will be open between 7 p.m. Friday and 2:30 a.m. Saturday and will be staffed by 15 deputies. The release did not say on which side of the road the checkpoint will be located.
“The purpose of the checkpoint is to remove impaired and/or unsafe drivers from the roadway and educate the motoring public; thereby increasing the safety of all drivers,” the release said.
