Sobriety checkpoint slated Friday night in Poway
Deputies will conduct a sobriety checkpoint Friday night and early Saturday on the 13200 block of Poway Road in Poway, according to San Diego County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Tally.
The checkpoint will start at 7 p.m. Friday and run through 2:30 a.m. Saturday, About 15 deputies trained in sobriety checks will be at the checkpoint, Road, Tally said.
Authorities said the purpose of the operation is to remove intoxicated drivers from the roads and educate the public about the dangers of driving under the influence.
