City of San Diego Budget Analyst supports eliminating free trash collection

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – The San Diego’s Independent Budget Analyst came out in support Friday of a plan to eliminate free trash collection for about 14,000 homes on private roads in an effort to save money.

Next meal-packing event will benefit Japan

Two pallets of meals packed at the March food packing event in Rancho Bernardo were sent to Japan for approval.

Friends & Family Community Connection, known for its meal-packing events, is putting a twist on its May 14 endeavor so those in Japan can be assisted.

‘Bike only’ sessions to start at Poway Skate Park May 25

The City of Poway is offering “Bike Only Sessions” for bike riders from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays, starting May 25 at the Poway Skate Park, 13090 Civic Center Drive.

City rules prohibit youth from riding bikes at the facility, primarily due to the size and weight of the bikes and the possibility of a collision with someone riding a skateboard, according to Senior Recreation Supervisor Greg Sundberg.

Concerns voiced over medical marijuana dispensary in Rancho Bernardo

A few members of the Rancho Bernardo business community are speaking out against their neighbor, MediBloom, a medical marijuana dispensary.

During Rancho Bernardo Community Council’s April 28 meeting, Roberta Robinson (an attorney) and Dr. Cary Orton (a dentist) voiced concerns over MediBloom sharing the building their offices occupy at 11665 Avena Place in Rancho Bernardo. It overlooks Webb Park.

Relay for Life
