Summer street repairs start July 5 in Poway

The city’s annual summer street maintenance program will begin July 5 and will focus on streets east of Midland Road and south of Lake Poway Road to the Poway Grade.

An Aug. 24 completion date is anticipated.

The work will begin with crack sealing and asphalt patching on Espola and Twin Peaks Roads, followed by slurry seal work in the residential streets within the area, known as “Zone 2” .

The work on the residential streets will require both partial and full closures, depending on the activities that are scheduled. Residents will be notified prior to the work so that they can adjust their travel needs accordingly.

Work scheduled for early July on the section of Espola Road between Poway Road and Range Park Road will require temporary road closures over a two-day period. The closures will occur during the day between the morning and afternoon rush hours.  There will be signed detours, and commuters should anticipate delays.

City public works officials suggest the residents watch for message signs for the exact location of current work.

Additional information will be posted to the city’s website at www.poway.org, as it becomes available.
