Poway Council to consider spending $781K on Arbolitos Park

The Poway City Council will be asked Tuesday night to approve spending $781,645 on the lighting and improving of the Arbolitos Sports Field, plus another $110,000 in legal fees related to a resident’s unsuccessful court challenge to the project being approved.

Rancho Bernardo Neighborhood Watch will host a 7-10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 National Night Out party at the Rancho Bernardo Community Park gazebo area, 18448 W. Bernardo Drive. There will be free refreshments, informational, games, contests and face painting.

Female Penasquitos bank robbery suspect arrested

A suspect was arrested Tuesday for the robbery of two San Diego banks, including one in Rancho Penasquitos.

A San Diego man accused of placing a debit card skimming device on a Rancho Penasquitos bank security door and ATM machines so he could steal the PIN numbers of thousands of customers was charged with multiple counts of identity theft and other crimes, authorities announced Wednesday.

Thief uses stolen Poway credit cards to charge $6,000

A credit card thief has racked up $6,000 in purchases after taking two credit cards from a vehicle parked on Edina Court in Poway.
