Prep golf: Del Norte High claims second straight Valley League title

The Del Norte High girls golf team returned its entire roster from a season ago and the team did exactly what it did last year – win a league title.

The Nighthawks clinched the Valley League crown with a 220-238 victory over Mission Vista Wednesday at Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Course. Once again it was junior Paris Griffith leading the way, firing a 2-over-par 38.

Victoria White (42) and Bella Kim (44) rounded out the top three scorers for the Nighthawks (13-2, 9-0). Del Norte remains perfect in Valley League play since it started playing varsity sports last year. The Nighthawks will now turn their attention to the North County Championships and then the CIF San Diego Section championships, which begin in two weeks.
