Ignis Salon offers complete lineup of beauty services

To bring out your inner glamour or just get pampered, Ignis Salon in Poway offers a complete lineup of beauty services for hair, skin, nails and more.

The goal of owners Anousheh Motamedi and Nadi Dadsetan is to provide a relaxing, upscale salon experience that makes clients feel special, with high quality services from expert stylists and service provider professionals.

“People need to feel better when they leave, and they definitely look better,” said Motamedi, also master stylist, adding that she enjoys giving clients an experience as if they were  models getting prepped for the runway. “For the whole experience, we try to have the best for them.”

Hair services include haircuts, highlights, extensions, updo styles and more. Ignis Salon also offers bridal hair and makeup services and for special occasions. The keratin complex smoothing treatment is also popular. The salon is especially well known for its color services. Currently the salon has a limited time special for a free haircut with a color service.

Additional services offered at Ignis Salon include: spa manicure and pedicures, threading and waxing, and skincare services such as facials, chemical peels and microdermabrasion.

Ignis Salon uses professional product lines such as Schwarzkopf and Keratin Complex by Coppola.

The salon, which features 11 service providers including hair stylists, skincare specialists and nail technicians, offers a modern and luxurious environment from the industrial ceiling with its exposed piping to the glamorous crystal chandelier at the entry.

Yet customers can expect a relaxing and unassuming atmosphere, said Dadsetan, and that’s what drew Motamedi and Dadsetan to purchase Ignis Salon when they were looking for a business venture years ago.

“The energy was so inviting,” Dadsetan reflected. “It’s not snobbish even though it’s very upscale…it just had such a good feel to it, and our clients say the same thing when they come.”

In October 2008, Motamedi and Dadsetan took over ownership of Ignis Salon, which had already been in Poway for over a decade. The two met through church, became good friends, and Motamedi started styling Dadsetan’s hair. Dadsetan, whose background was in engineering, and Motamedi, who had trained and worked as a stylist in Germany and France, were each looking for their own business opportunity. Though they originally planned to be independent, the two decided to team up to run a salon.

“Neither of us wanted a partner before we met each other,” said Dadsetan. “For whatever reason it was very natural for us to work together.”

Recently the owners of Ignis Salon have focused on giving back to the local community. Last September, Ignis Salon hosted a fundraiser to benefit the National Transplant Assistance Fund & Catastrophic Injury Program, donating a portion of proceeds and also rallying local businesses to participate and donate services. The goal was to help Patrick Ivison, a Scripps Ranch teen, pay for rehabilitation therapy. Ivison was paralyzed 17 years ago and aimed to walk to receive his diploma at his high school graduation (last week, the determined teen did).

Stylists from Ignis Salon also recently visited a women’s shelter in Escondido to provide women in distress with complimentary haircuts and styles, a community service activity the salon would like to repeat.
