“Officially a Wildcat!” tweeted Babiash. “I will be playing the next four years of football at the University of Arizona!”

The soon-to-be senior cannot officially sign with the Wildcats until February of 2013. Babiash, who stands 6-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs 170-pounds, also had offers from Oklahoma, Nebraska, San Diego State, Washington, Nevada and a few others.

Babiash, who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5-seconds, verbally committed to Washington in April, but quickly backed out saying he felt he rushed into that decision. The Pac-12 Conference Wildcats have become the beneficiaries of that move, snagging the 26th-best corner available, according to Scout.com.

Babiash will likely play a huge role on both sides of the ball for the defending CIF San Diego Section Division I champion Titans this upcoming season. He put himself on the map of several colleges last year by picking off three passes in the section championship game.

Arizona can use the help right now, but will have to wait another year for Babiash’s services. The Wildcats won just four games last season, finishing 2-7 in conference play.
