I'd pay anything to see the twisted up faces of the bitter neighbors who fought to stop the lights. They're probably still whining about broken promises and master plans.

I do think I see an almost-dead gnatcatcher on the hill back there. RIP.

Then you should have taken the time to go to the opening and seen me there, enjoying the sun and field. It's a nice field and it was good to see the council members again. Later in the weekend, four of the adult teams were out in force playing a couple of games. Sadly, they'll tear up the field (which is really nice right now, BTW) a little faster than the kids. Stop by to watch the adults play, as their pretty good. Though you might need to brush up on your Spanish.

I didn't see any dead Gnatcatchers, but their a bit on the small side. :-) But, if you go later in the day, you can see some hawks on the tops of the poles, scanning below for the bunny rabbits. And if you want to see the lights when they're on, you don't even have to go to the park. You can see them online from the cameras positioned all the way on the top of Mt. Woodson, ~5 miles away and ~2000 feet up.
