Little League All-Stars Majors: Gaswirth homers twice in Poway American victory

The Poway American Little League majors all-star team showed the type of pop it can produce at the plate in Wednesday’s quarterfinal game.

Bryce Tregoning smashed PALL’s fourth home run of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning and Ben Decker tossed a scoreless sixth to lift PALL to a 10-9 victory over Del Mar American.

The win advances PALL to the semifinals where they will face Poway National Little League at 11 a.m. at PALL Fields. PALL made the district title game last year, but fell to Encinitas National.

Derek Gaswirth had two home runs, a two-run shot in the first and a solo shot in the fourth inning for PALL. Ryan Zhao added a two-run homer in the third inning. Sunday’s game against PNLL could be a slugfest, as both teams have been piling up the home runs.
