Also, you can get Twitter updates and fire notifications sent to your phone by CalFire and SDFD. This also goes for Cal EMA (State Emergency Management) and San Diego Unified Disaster Council.
Amazing how fast you had photos posted… it's nice to get breaking news within minutes of it happening. The photos are excellent. Your photographer (Steve L.) captured some great shots of the scene.
According to a Sheriffs Deputy on the scene, the fire was accidentally and ironically started by a man clearing dry grass with a weed whacker.
Did they use the Ladder truck? Maybe it could extend high enough to squirt from above? The tallest building in Poway is only 4 stories. There's got to be someplace they can use it. Oh, hey, how about we trade it in for a Brush Rig? Quick, somebody call Jon Canavan!
They have a ladder truck in case a neighboring city needs assistance in a high rise. Natural disasters do happen. Even though your sarcasm is unnecessary, should you ever need assistance from our Fire Dept. Mr. Canavan and crew will be there for you.
