Little League All-Stars: Local teams invading this week’s championship games

There is a chance at least one local team will be playing in each of the District 31 All-Star Tournament championship games this week.

Right now, Poway National Little League will be playing Encinitas in the majors championship game, 4S Ranch will be playing Encinitas in the 9/10-year-old championship game and 4S Ranch will be playing Carmel Mountain Ranch in the juniors championship game.

A win tonight by the 11-year-old Poway National Little League team against Del Mar National (game time 5:30 at Rancho Bernardo Little League Fields) will put them in the title game against the winner of Tuesday’s Carmel Mountain Ranch-Encinitas National game.

The 9/10 year old, 11 year old and majors championship games are slated for Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Poway American Little League Fields. The juniors championship game is Tuesday at 6 p.m. at 4S Ranch. 4S Ranch will need to beat Carmel Mountain Ranch twice to capture the title.
