Thank you! One of my goals has been and will be greater interaction with the community. I believe 70% of our school district community members do not have children in the PUSD, but they appear to share great pride and support in our schools. As a PTA leader, I've wanted to inform our community about what is going on in education, in our classrooms and at the state level.

I think you will make an excellent board member. My comment was directed in response to Mom of 4 who made the comment the PUSD no longer had kids in the district. I am hopeful we can spur one more candidate to enter as a write in candidate. Papers can be pulled on September 10 to enter as a write in candidate.

Let me assure you that I am fiscally responsible. I do my due diligence by thoroughly researching major financial decisions. I strive to be an informed consumer. Having been raised by Depression Era parents, I carry no debts except for my mortgage, and that will be paid off in 5 1/2 years. When entrusted with other people's money, I feel an even greater obligation and responsibility to ensure sound fiscal stewardship.

Whether or not they have children currently in the school district shouldn't be criteria for being on the school board – being fiscally responsible is. Budget and financing decisions affect the community, which includes those without children in district schools. Sometimes it's all about the kids and sometimes it's all about protecting the community.

Good luck Kimberly. It's time to get those incumbents out. They've been on the board too long and no longer have kids in the school district. Their recent fiscal decisions are irresponsible.
