The body of a missing Carmel Mountain Ranch resident has been found, almost a month after it was announced he was missing.
Brent MacNab, 43, was reported missing by his family. He was last seen on July 15 at his Carmel Mountain Ranch home. Police issued a missing person bulletin for him on July 19.
Lt. Andra Brown announced Friday that the rented 2012 Jeep Wrangler he was driving was discovered on July 30 when California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a vehicle about 300 feet down a canyon at Sutherland Dam Road and Sutherland Drive in Cleveland National Forest between San Pasqual and Julian.
“MacNab had been ejected from the vehicle and his body was located a distance away,” Brown said.
According to the University of Sydney’s website, he was a member of its international business program since 2005. Much of his work focused on developing cultural intelligence and cross-cultural theories. MacNab earned his doctorate at the University of Hawaii and was a surfer, kayaker and spear fisherman. His survivors include wife, Susan, and their young son, Jacob.
Police Det. Cat Millett said MacNab was living in Carmel Mountain Ranch during his sabbatical from the University of Sydney.
