Mr. Lyles: Remember how in your prior column you put forth Mangum as the only truly qualified? "As a school board member, Jeff was tested with the toughest fiscal challenges local government entities have faced. Many school districts failed the test (think San Diego Unified) while Poway passed with flying colors."

By "passing with flying colors" did you mean the ability to drag this community into debt so deep our grandkids won't see the light of day? Mangum's slogan "Trusted and Tested" should be changed to "Trusted and Busted." Shame on you both.

Dick, you just may be on to something with this approach. Had you and Amy come to a consensus you could have presented a rational plan to the PUSD School Board in 2008, instead of the loan shark from Orange County. The future tax payers, who are now grade school-rs, may not feel they were raped when it comes time to pay the bill.
I'll just bet your guy, Jeff Mangum, would have gleefully accepted a better idea.

Thank you both, Dick and Amy!

This point-counterpoint series has always seemed a bit divisive simply for the sake of divisiveness. This seems to be is a good change.
