Poway council candidates certified to run

The four Poway City Council candidates have been certified to run in the November election, according to City Clerk Linda Troyan.

The candidates are seeking to fill two council seats, one held by Merrilee Boyack, who is not running for a third term, and one held by Jim Cunningham, who is seeking re-election.

Steve Vaus was certified on July 25; Gary Vineyard on Aug. 8, Jim Cunningham on Aug. 10, and Jeff Mangum on Aug. 13.

The filing period will close on Aug. 15. The two candidates receiving the most votes in November will fill the two council seats.
