Poway Walmart and Soroptimist International of Poway, in partnership with LifeStyle INFOCUS, hosts the Poway Walmart Wellness Expo 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 in the parking lot of the Poway Wal-Mart. Get low-cost groceries once a month by reserving food packages ranging from $8 to $37 through the Poway Share Food Program. Orders can be placed between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. weekdays at the Poway Senior Center, 13094 Civic Center Drive, or online at www.powayshare.com until Aug. 16. Distribution will be 8 to 9 a.m. Aug. 25 at the Poway Senior Center.

CPR/infant life saving class
Parents and grandparents can learn CPR and infant life saving techniques in a class presented by the American Heart Association Saturday, Aug. 18 at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, 16275 Pomerado Road, Poway. Head Start is accepting applications for its federally funded free preschool program. The program offers nutritious meals, educational activities and kindergarten readiness skills.
