Prep Girls Golf: Poway High’s season-best score trumped by Carlsbad

The Poway High girls golf team fired a season-best 219, but Carlsbad one-upped them with a 201 Thursday to win the non-league match at Stoneridge Country Club’s par-36, nine-hole course.

Lauren Spitzley carded a team-best 38 for the Titans, while Maddelyn Zack (41), Joei Ducot (45), Torrey Brown (47), Sarah Evans (48) and Devon Thompson (49) rounded out the Titans’ scorecard.

Carlsbad’s Alan Uriell was the medalist with a 36.
