Prep Girls Volleyball: Del Norte High takes down former Valley League foe Canyon Crest Academy

The Del Norte High girls volleyball team did not have to schedule defending Valley League champion Canyon Crest Academy this year.

But the Nighthawks put their former league rivals on the slate anyway, and on Wednesday got the best of them.

Lexi Reddick posted 21 kills and Jordan Zerwig had 42 assists, as Del Norte defeated host Canyon Crest Academy 3-1 (25-21, 25-21, 17-25, 25-21) in a nonleague match.

Canyon Crest, which will play in the Palomar League this year, was led by Delaney Sullivan’s 15 kills. Del Norte’s McClaren Kennedy had 14 kills, while Tammy Allen chipped in with 23 digs.

Del Norte moved to 6-2 with the win, while Canyon Crest fell to 4-3.
