Pedestrian injured in Rancho Penasquitos

(CNS) – A 51-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday night with serious head trauma after he walked in front of a car while attempting to cross a Rancho Penasquitos street while under the influence of alcohol, police said.

The man was struck by a 2006 Mazda in the 13400 block of Rancho Penasquitos Boulevard around 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

The Mazda was driven by a 36-year-old man, who was not hurt, Stafford said
