Prep Girls Golf: Del Norte High drops first Valley League match in short history
The Del Norte High girls golf team saw its two-year Valley League winning streak snapped by Mission Vista.
The two-time defending league champion Nighthawks had never lost a match in Valley League play in their two years playing at the varsity level. But that ended with Thursday’s 214-227 loss to the Timberwolves at the par-36 San Luis Rey Downs Golf Course.
Mission Vista had two players card 39 or better, while Annika Chickering was the only player for Del Norte to break 40. Senior Paris Griffith finished with a 45 and Victoria While had a 46 for the Nighthawks (3-4, 0-1 Valley League).
The medalist honors went to Mission Vista’s Michelle Pica (35).
