DogMa, that's not a logical conclusion, that's an assumption with no proof to back it up. I still believe that NO candidate would condone defacing an opposing candidate's sign. Furthermore, unless you spend all day, every day driving every street in Poway, how can you say that Mangum's signs have not been defaced or removed? You don't know.

And here's a thought...perhaps there are people who are either:
1. Immature and destroy signs for fun
or
2. Are completely not associated with Mangum, but for their own reasons, dislike Vaus. There are people who dislike Mangum but aren't associated with Vaus, after all.

She didn't say Mangum did it. But a logical conclusion is that Mangum's supporters or their kids are doing the damage. And I have yet to see any of Mangum's signs defaced. Although my dog did take a poop under a Mangum sign the other day. Of course I picked it up but I was afraid someone would think I was defacing one of his signs.

Well, if YOU haven't seen any Mangum signs defaced, then there must not be any, right? Wrong. Both candidates have had signs removed and defaced. This isn't the only election this kind of thing happens in. It's wrong, no matter who you support, and I am guessing that all candidates would agree. That being said, Christie's letter doubles as a Vaus support letter and takes a very cheap shot at Mangum.

They don't have money for a street fair but manage to find money to sponsor a new december ice skating festival? Ask the city why they added a new event that isn't paying its way yet instead of sponsoring the Poway Days events.
No, the city, and the poway chamber of commerce who used to co-sponsor this have managed to shift all this to VOLUNTEERS to handle it. Now that there are volunteers doing this, neither the city nor chamber will spend a buck to support it, although in looking at the street fair ads, you'd have thought that the chamber was sponsoring the entire poway days events. Talk w. Sabrina Butler about volunteer opportunities for 2013 and why they didn't have booths this year.
I missed the "Pig in a pit" bbq that the Community Church used to have, don't remember there being one last year either.

Because those are the only signs being ripped and tossed around. I have yet to see a Mangum sign defaced.

Part 2:

As for Governor Romney, it doesn't just "seem" that he thinks 47% of Americans "are dependent on government," "believe they are victims," "believe the government has a responsibility to care for them," and therefore his job is "not to worry about them" because he will "never convince them to take personal responsibility and care for their lives." Governor Romney actually said exactly that, as caught on video available all over the internet.

And FYI, the almost half of our citizens he thinks lack personal responsibility are primarily made up of seniors on social security, those disabled in foreign wars or in the line of duty, and those who work hard but make too little to pay income tax because of exemptions and deductions even though they typically do pay payroll taxes, sales taxes, property taxes and other taxes, making your statement that that they "do not pay any taxes" patently false. Do you agree with Governor Romney that seniors on social security and our disabled veterans and safety personnel lack personal responsibility?

Ms. Pitman:

I have two comments, provided in two parts.

Part 1: Your letter states that "it seems" our president has done nothing but apologize to other countries, among other things which "it seems" to you. To an inhabitant of earth lacking knowledge of our solar system, it seems like the sun revolves around the earth, and to the subjects of Plato's Allegory of the Cave it seemed like the shadows on the wall were evil giants.

So here's my challenge - please quote President Obama (like I quote Governor Romney in Part 2) making at least one such apology, with supporting citation(s). If, as "it seems" to you, in the almost 4 years "since taking office Mr. Obama has done nothing but apologize to other countries for the arrogance of Americans," quoting at least one such apology with supporting proof shouldn't be difficult.

Christie, How come you only mentioned the Vaus signs you supposedly found in the gutter? Nice tongue in cheek job. I'm not buying it. You just showed everyone how much of a huge Vaus supporter you are. You could've been a little more discreet.

Noreen, With all due respect, one of the reasons they stopped doing the Community Park activities after the parade was a lack of funds. Perhaps you could spearhead the fund raising events so we can enjoy the after parade events again. Beer garden and all. Good luck!
