Poway Unified candidate forum is Wednesday, Oct. 10

A forum for candidates for the Poway Unified School District Board of Education is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10. It will be held at school district offices, 15250 Avenue of Science, Carmel Mountain Ranch.

Participating in the forum are all three candidates, Kimberley Beatty, Andy Patapow and Linda Vanderveen. The forum, sponsored by the Palomar Council PTA, will be moderated by the League of Women Voters of San Diego.

Two seats are up for a vote Nov. 6. Incumbents Patapow and Vanderveen are seeking re-election. This is Beatty’s second bid for a seat on the school board.

The five school board members are elected at-large. Other board members are Penny Ranftle, Todd Gutschow and Marc Davis. All are Poway residents. The terms of Ranftle, Gutschow and Davis expire in two years.

Are we going to be allowed to ask them questions about their bond decisions or will those be blocked again? Hope it's a different moderator.

DogMa, Are you still beating a dead horse?

What dead horse? It seems more a long the lines of a bunch of ostrichs with their head stuck in the sand rather than acknowledge their boy wonder has failed them on an epic scale.
