Three charged in Penasquitos home burglary

Three men were charged with burglary after two of them were allegedly spotted by a Rancho Penasquitos woman as she was returning home Friday morning leaving the side gate of her residence on the 12300 block of Picrus Street. The woman called San Diego police, giving them a description of the car and the license number. About three minutes later, Officers located the vehicle about three miles away. Inside were Matthew Weingel, 22; Zain Zawed, 21; and Fyel Castaneda, 20.

Two of suspects were identified as leaving the victim’s home. Stolen electronic items were recovered from inside the vehicle. The investigation revealed that all three were responsible for two counts of burglary. Northeastern Division is continuing the investigation.
