Prep Football: Gross helps Poway High snag first home win of season

Nehemiah Gross rushed for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns, as the Poway High football team survived a scare from visiting Ramona to snag its first win at home, 37-21, Friday on homecoming.

Down 23-7, the Bulldogs (4-3, 0-2 Palomar) rallied to pull within 23-21. But that would be as close as they would get, as the Titans (5-2, 2-0) scored the games final 14 points en route to their third straight victory.

Quarterback Max Washam had a 1-yard TD run and found Derek Babiash for a 47-yard score. Lance Mudd also found the end zone on a 23-yard burst. Alec Moreno had two fumble recoveries and a sack to lead the Poway defense.
