Motorcyclist injured in collision with pickup

POWAY (CNS) – A 22-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious injuries Saturday in a collision with a pickup truck backing out of a driveway.

It happened about 11:10 a.m., when the motorcyclist traveling southbound on Budwin Lane was unable to avoid colliding with a pickup truck backing out of a driveway in the 14700 block of Budwin, Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Karo said.

“The driver of the motorcycle noticed the truck blocking the roadway and entered into a locked-wheel skid but couldn’t avoid a crash,” said Karo.

The biker, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Pomerado Hospital prior to deputies arriving, Karo said.

The motorcyclist suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, police said.
