No arrests at Poway DUI checkpoint

No arrests were made at a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint set up in Poway Friday night and Saturday morning. The checkpoint was conducted by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department between 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28 and 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29. in the 13000 block of Poway Road.

A total of 2498 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. Of the 674 vehicles that were screened, 16 were sent to the secondary checkpoint. Five citations were issued to drivers without a valid driver’s license.

A DUI Saturation Patrol will be conducted Monday, Dec. 31 throughout Poway.
