Photos from Poway Kiwanis Club’s annual Padres Luncheon
An estimated 325 baseball fans gathered Feb. 7 for the Poway Kiwanis Club’s 16th Padres Spring Training Kickoff Luncheon, held at the Holy Family Center at St. Michael Church.
The event raised nearly $10,000 for Rady Children’s Hospital and high school scholarships. Radio broadcaster Bob Scanlan served as emcee while Poway City Councilman Jim Cunningham was the auctioneer.
- Nicholas Stearn scored an autograph from pitcher Logan Forsythe.
- A baseball-themed invocation was delivered by Msgr. Neal Dolan.
- “The Bench Tones” sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” and a little-known version of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”
