Newspapers host February chamber mixer
The February Poway Chamber of Commerce mixer was held Thursday night at the new office of the Poway News Chieftain and Rancho Bernardo News Journal.
An estimated 80 people enjoyed barbecued sandwiches and side dishes prepared by and served from the “Super Q” food truck operated by Kaminski’s Barbecue and Sports Lounge.
Poway Mayor Don Higginson, Councilmen Steve Vaus, John Mullin and Dave Grosch and City Manager Penny Riley were among the dignitaries attending. Jeff Powell from the office of state Sen. Joel Anderson presented a Senate Certificate of Recognition to editor Steve Dreyer commending the News Chieftain “for their unyielding commitment to providing thorough news coverage for the Poway community.”
The News Chieftain and the News Journal moved in October from the Poway Business Park to new space at 14023 Midland Road, in the Old Poway Village center.
