3 arrested after pot operation is found in Poway home

POWAY (CNS) – Drug-enforcement agents raided a Poway home Friday, seizing marijuana and arresting two men and a woman on suspicion of cultivating and processing the illicit plants.

Members of the regional Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant at the house in the 13500 block of Acton Avenue in Poway about 7 a.m., sheriff’s Lt. Harold Turner said.

The personnel seized 230 marijuana plants and about 20 pounds of processed cannabis at the rental residence. The street value of the contraband was estimated at $750,000.

Jailed in connection with the alleged illicit drug setup were Jaime Rene Katzenstein, 28, Jason Paul Lujan, 25, and Timothy Yihung Tien, 23.

Investigators believe that the trio ran a marijuana cultivation, manufacturing and delivery operation out of the home, according to Turner.

A city fire investigator, code-compliance officer and building inspector also were called out to look over the residence, since the processes the suspects allegedly were involved in can cause explosions, the lieutenant said.

This is the worst article ever written. You just added a zero onto every number you posted. Do you really think marijuana costs $37,000 a pound?? And who the hell who live in Poway if they made $750,000? NO ONE! I hope these people don't get robbed because you put their address and a completely false amount of money. Pathetic journalism at its finest!

Lot's of people who make $750,000 and MORE live in Poway, Mom, and it is typical for law enforcement to exaggerate amounts and value of drugs seized…it makes them look better. The address was not posted, just the block, and I'll betcha that everyone on the block knows who it is anyway so it's really no secret. The people are in jail and the amount was the estimated value of the weed…not the amount of money in the house, which if any, was probably seized as well. Sooooooo YOU got most of your rant inaccurate as well.

It was only 20 lbs of processed marijuana. You aren't taking into account the 230 plants.
