CIF Prep Boys Volleyball: Rancho Bernardo High tops San Marcos, headed to semifinals

The Rancho Bernardo High boys volleyball team is headed to the CIF San Diego Section Division II semifinals.

The fifth-seeded Broncos made quick work of No. 4 San Marcos, sweeping the Knights 25-22, 25-18, 25-22 behind 12 kills by Brandon Rattray and 28 assists from Jacob Imnan Saturday in the quarterfinals.

The test will be much tougher Wednesday at 7, when the Broncos travel to No. 1 La Costa Canyon for the semifinal showdown. The winner will play in the section championship match Saturday at Cathedral Catholic at 3 p.m.
