Prep Baseball: Miller, Xirinachs power Del Norte High to Valley League title

Matt Miller and Stephen Xirinachs each homered twice and the Del Norte High baseball team clinched at least a share of the Valley League crown Saturday afternoon with a 10-1 victory over Mission Vista at Del Norte High School.

The Nighthawks ended it early, putting up four runs in the first inning and five more in the second to take a commanding 9-0 lead. Nick Lavin picked up the win on the mound for Del Norte.

The Nighthawks will close the season with Ramona on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The Bulldogs can share the Valley League crown with Del Norte with a win.
