Prep Girls Golf: Rancho Bernardo High has strong outing in win over Poway

The Rancho Bernardo High girls golf team put together one of its best outings of the season Thursday afternoon on their home course at Bernardo Heights Country Club.

The Broncos, led by freshman Cecelia DeMatteo’s one-under par 35 and Jessica Wagner’s 36, beat Poway 192-213 in a Palomar League match. Hana Bradshaw rounded out the top three for Rancho Bernardo, firing a 37.

The Titans were led by Lauren Spitzley’s 36. Maddelyn Zack and Joei Ducot followed with 42s.

Rancho Bernardo has just one loss in Palomar League play and that of course came against three-time defending state champion Torrey Pines. The Broncos will get one last shot at the Falcons on Tuesday before the North County Tournament and the CIF San Diego Section playoffs begin.
