Air Force to buy 24 UAVs from Poway firm

The Air Force will purchase 24 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) manufactured by Poway-based General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. for a reported $377.4 million.

The contract for the MQ-9 Block 5 Reapers was announced Friday, according to website militaryaerospace.com. The amount includes the aircraft, shipping containers, spare parts and support equipment.

    That picture is an MQ-1C, not an MQ-9.
