When this year’s Miss Poway and Miss Teen pageant is held in April, it will be a special milestone — the 50th anniversary of local girls and young women vying for the queen’s crown.

The third in a series of talks about teen substance abuse will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 at the Poway Center for Performing Arts, 15498 Espola Road. Parents are encouraged to attend with their teens. Guest speakers will talk about the dangers of synthetic and other drugs.
