The Friends of the Rancho Bernardo Library present a free concert 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23 in the Community Room of the Library, 17110 Bernardo Center Drive. Performing the music of Ravel and Villa-Lobos will be members of the acclaimed California Quartet, featuring violinist Bridget Dolkas, and cellist Lars Hoefs. The YPO Philharmonic String Orchestra and Soloist Ensemble, under the direction of Alyze Dreiling, will present their final concert of the 2011-12 season 7 p.m. Friday, May 18 at the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church, 17010 Pomerado Road. The featured work is the Brahms Horn Trio. Performing are members of the San Diego Symphony, Ben Jaber, principal French horn, Kate Hatmaker, violin, and Jessie Chang, piano. The Trio will be preceded by works of Dvorak and Debussy by violin and piano. Good will offerings are greatly appreciated.
