Less than a decade ago, hybrid vehicles were the frontrunners in fuel-efficient auto technology; and today, electric cars are taking up the torch. More than ever before, high gas prices and limited oil resources are inspiring manufacturers, government leaders and consumers alike to invest in transportation alternatives: and if electric vehicles are here to stay, so too are the savings opportunities afforded by fuel-free travel.
