A wide variety of art styles will be showcased during Rancho Bernardo Art Association’s third annual art studio tour later this month.
Some local artists made a big splash at the 2012 San Diego County Fair Art Exhibit. These pieces will be on display at the fairgrounds through Wednesday, July 4.

The Boardwalk Craft Market in Old Poway Park is celebrating 20 years of providing heritage crafts to park visitors this year. The craft market is currently being held the first Saturday of every month, with the next show Saturday, April 7 on the covered boardwalk surrounding the Poway Heritage Museum and Hamburger Factory.

The Ramona Art Guild is seeking to bring culture and an outlet to enjoy the arts to Poway with their 2011 Open Juried Art Show, now displaying at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts through Friday, Dec. 23.

The North County Society of Fine Arts held a ceremony last week to celebrate the top juried entries of its open exhibition, which runs through April 26 at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, 15498 Espola Road.
The society, which seeks to bring public recognition to local artists, awarded $1,025 in prize money to those who finished in first, second and third place in each of the four categories. Juror Chuck McPherson also awarded honorable mention awards and a juror’s commendation.

Poway artist Cherry Sweig has embarked on an ambitious 101-day art project, one that will bring splashes of color to the Chula Vista Nature Center one small painting at a time.
The nonprofit center provides environmental education on coastal resource conservation, bringing awareness about the birds, reptiles and marine animals and that inhabit the 316-acre Sweetwater Marsh National Wildlife Refuge.
Sweig’s project, which started Dec. 1, is being called 101 Reason to Explore the Chula Vista Nature Center. Sweig will paint 101 daily original oil paintings inspired by the center.
