The Friends of the Rancho Bernardo Library present a free concert 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23 in the Community Room of the Library, 17110 Bernardo Center Drive. Performing the music of Ravel and Villa-Lobos will be members of the acclaimed California Quartet, featuring violinist Bridget Dolkas, and cellist Lars Hoefs. The YPO Philharmonic String Orchestra and Soloist Ensemble, under the direction of Alyze Dreiling, will present their final concert of the 2011-12 season 7 p.m. Friday, May 18 at the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church, 17010 Pomerado Road. The Friends of the Rancho Bernardo Library present a free concert 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 in the Community Room of the Library, 17110 Bernardo Center Drive. The featured work is the Brahms Horn Trio. Performing are members of the San Diego Symphony, Ben Jaber, principal French horn, Kate Hatmaker, violin, and Jessie Chang, piano. The Trio will be preceded by works of Dvorak and Debussy by violin and piano. Good will offerings are greatly appreciated.

The concert will include F. Herold’s “Overture to ‘Zampa’” and J. Massenet’s “Suite no. 1, opus 13” and Faure’s Requiem. The concert is free but donations will be accepted. Poway High School presents the Festival Choir Concert, featuring the Poway High School choirs and the Twin Peaks Middle School choir, 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, 15498 Espola Road, Poway. The concert will include a variety of traditional choral music, singing selections in several languages including French, Italian, Latin, and Japanese.
