Kyle Dean watched his good friend Alex Jackson closely as he competed in all of the biggest baseball showcases — Under Armour All-America Game, Perfect Game All-American Classic and the Area Code Games — before his senior year last summer.

The Carmel Highland Golf Course adjacent to the DoubleTree Resort and Spa will be closing within the next six to 12 months and the some 113 acres of land it occupies will be put to use in another way, according to its owners.
