Blair A. Borgerd

Blair Allen Borgerd, age 79, died Nov. 8, 2007 due to complications of pneumonia and the effects of the recent fire.

During his Navy career, he participated in “Operation Highjump” which was Admiral Richard Byrd’s fourth Antarctic expedition.

In 1958 he married Barbara Sprague in Lima, Ohio.

He retired from National Cash Register as a senior systems analyst in 1985 and from Fujitsu in 1988.

As a member of Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church, he became an elder and deacon several times each, chairing the Mission, Christian Education and Membership committees and participating in Pastor Search and Building Committee surveys. He also led adult Bible studies.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of Escondido; his daughter Wendy of Carson City, Nev.; and his son David of Apple Valley, Calif.

A memorial service was held Nov. 16 at Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church.

The family suggests donations in his name to the Mission Committee of Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church, 17010 Pomerado Road, San Diego, CA 92128.

Alhiser-Comer Mortuary in Escondido handled the arrangements.

Olga V. Johnson

A memorial service will be held Sunday for Olga Vladimirovna Johnson of Rancho Penasquitos, who died Nov. 9, 2007 at the age of 46. She was born in Moscow, Russia, and lived in Rancho Penasquitos for 10 years.

Mrs. Johnson died in a car accident while visiting her sister, Anya, who worked as a nurse at the Russian Embassy in Damascus, Syria. A Russian diplomat and his wife were escorting them on a day trip to the sea when the car they were traveling in had a flat tire and rolled. All four passengers died in the single-car accident.

A wife, mother, artist, musician, writer and dancer, Mrs. Johnson was owner/broker of her own business, San Diego Estates Realty. Earlier in her career, she worked as an English/Russian translator and interpreter for the Boeing Company’s International Space Station project. She also worked for Boeing as a government contracts administrator. Prior to moving to the United States, she was an Intourist guide in Moscow, Greece and Cyphrus. She spoke fluent Russian, Greek and English.

She played piano and painted wall murals at Grace Community Church in Mira Mesa, where she has been attending for the past three years.

Survivors included husband, Vladimir Zlotopolski; her three children, Nadia, Nicholas and Pasha; her mother, Galina Nabatchikova of Moscow, Russia; and her former husband, David Johnson of Rancho Penasquitos.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25 at Grace Community Church, 9050 Mira Mesa Blvd., Mira Mesa.

Louise T. Kennedy

Louise Terese Kennedy of Rancho Bernardo died Nov. 11, 2007 at the age of 85. She was born in Canton, Mass., and lived in Rancho Bernardo for 15 years.

Ms. Kennedy was an executive secretary for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Boston, Mass., for 50 years before retiring and moving to San Diego in 1992. She was a member of San Rafael Catholic Church and the National Active Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE).

Survivors include her nieces, Isabel G. Buie of San Diego and Paula M. Corridan of Springfield, Mass.; her nephew, Anthony E. Galvin of San Diego; seven grandnephews and nieces; and three great-grandnephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her sister, Isabel Galvin.

Services will be held in Springfield, Mass.

The family suggests donations to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
