Rancho Bernardo High junior baseball player Alex Jackson has been selected to play in the 2012 Under Armour All-America Game Aug. 18 at Wrigley Field.

The game, which showcases 38 of the best high school players in an American vs. National team matchup, will air live nationally on the MLB Network. The players were selected by a committee of Baseball Factory Scouts.

Jackson, who is currently playing in the prestigious Area Code Games in Long Beach, hit .400 with 17 home runs last year for the Broncos. The 6-foot, 2-inch, 215-pound catcher was named the Sophomore of the Year in California by Cal-Hi Sports.

Seven players from last year’s Under Armour All-America Game were selected in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft.
