Poway Valley Dental offers quality care

Poway Valley Dental Group aims to be a one-stop location to take care of all the hygiene needs of children and adult patients in a comfortable setting.

The practice provides care for cosmetic and family dentistry needs, as well as dental specialties. The office is located at Bernardo Heights Parkway and Pomerado Road.

The practice has been owned since June 2011 by Scott Grivas D.D.S., The original owner, John Sepe D.D.S., continues to practice here as he has for eight years at this location, according to the practice’s office manager, Tracy Robb. Dr. Sepe specializes in orthodontics, sleep apnea disorders and TMD, or temporomandibular disorders and dysfunction.

The office recently added Weston Spencer D.D.S. to its team of dentists.

Poway Valley Dental Group covers a wide range of oral hygiene care, including cosmetic and restorative dentistry, pedodontics (children’s dentistry), endodontics, prosthodontics and orthodontics. For patients who want help relaxing, the practice offers oral conscious sedation dentistry. For orthodontics, patients can choose braces or clear-correct options.

“We have a real family atmosphere here,” Robb said. “We’re very motivated by our patients and we give them what they need.”

The practice also includes a full hygiene staff, familiar faces who have worked at the practice for years, said Robb. Poway Valley Dental Group takes insurance plans and also offers patients an installment payment option. For those without insurance, the office has very affordable cash rates, according to the office manager.

Poway Valley Dental Group is accepting new patients. A new patient special offers a cleaning and exam for $75 (in absence of periodontal disease).

The dental office includes four exam rooms, plus an X-ray room and on-site dental lab.

In keeping up with the latest dental technologies, one of the advanced techniques offered here is laser therapy used for gum surgery. There are no blades or stitches involved, so there are less bacteria and patients are more comfortable, said Robb. There are also plans soon to add digital X-rays and inter-oral camera technology that will allow patients to view inside their own mouths to better understand the dental work to be done.

Drs. Grivas and Spencer are graduates of Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and Dr. Sepe is a graduate of the UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Grivas also learned advanced cosmetic dentistry techniques as a graduate of the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.

Patients to this dental office visit from all areas of San Diego County, including Poway, Rancho Bernardo, 4S Ranch, Encinitas, La Mesa, Carlsbad and more, according to Robb, and business is mainly by referral, according to Robb.

“Patients recommend us because they like us,” said Robb, noting that the office emphasizes excellent quality as well as honesty.
