4S Ranch now has its own neighborhood florist with the opening of Rosy Floral Studio, an independently run retail shop offering custom-designed arrangements for everyday celebrations and special events.

In opening Rosy Floral Studio, owners Anne and Taka Kiyoizumi, envisioned a community-oriented business that filled an unmet need.

“People are really excited that we’re here. They’re saying, ‘We really needed a florist in this area,’” said Anne Kiyoizumi, who previously worked as a floral designer out of her home. As the economy improved, she and her husband decided to open a retail shop.

The couple, who have lived near 4S Ranch for 12 years, opened Rosy Floral Studio just in time for Mother’s Day in May, and subsequently have kept busy with the high school prom season and graduation celebrations.

Rosy Floral Studio can create contemporary and traditional designs, with arrangements for all occasions, including: weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, get well wishes, funerals, and more.

“We provide a service in the community... (for) people wanting a little bit beyond just flowers in a vase. They want a bit of creativity and design, and that’s where we really shine,” said Anne.

The goal of the floral shop is to make customers happy, whether it’s matching floral design to a particular color scheme or outfit, crafting something that’s very personalized, or tailoring an arrangement to make the most of a customer’s budget.

“We try to cover the whole range of budgets,” said Taka Kiyoizumi.

Everything is custom made, and customers can browse Rosy Floral Studio’s catalog of original designs on the website, www.Rosyfloralstudio.com.

The store also offers unique gifts, such as cards and chocolates from Eclipse chocolatier in San Diego.

The florist offers local delivery, and as a member of the companies FTD and 1-800-Flowers, the shop can deliver arrangements worldwide.

Anne’s background in the floral industry includes a certificate in floral design, and Taka comes from a business background. Their skill sets and experience complement each other as they run the business together with Anne as shop manager and designing arrangements and Taka taking care of the accounting and other logistics as business manager.

The couple also has a team of skilled floral designers working for them, including their master designer, Joel Garlejo, who specializes in events. Garlejo is a floral design instructor at Palomar College and well known in the community, with more than 20 years of floral design experience.

Rosy Floral Studio is trying to reach out to the community by creating fun events. For instance, the shop recently invited the prom committee from Del Norte High School to come to the store to assemble prom centerpieces. The shop also plans to have an “artist night” over the summer, where local artists will be invited to display their artwork in the shop for the month of June. There are also plans to offer some fundamental flower arranging classes over the summer.

Rosy Floral Studio is located at 16615 Dove Canyon Road, Suite #101 in 4S Ranch. The phone number is 858-673-ROSY.
