Attempted sexual assault reported in Penasquitos

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A man with a piece of cloth covering his face sneaked into a Rancho Penasquitos home early Monday, grabbed a sleeping woman in her bed

and made a failed attempt to sexually assault her, authorities reported.

The resident awoke to find the intruder in her house on Via del Sud about 1:30 a.m., according to San Diego police. Following a struggle, the assailant fled.

The victim described the man as thin and roughly 5-foot-10 wearing dark-colored shorts, a striped shirt and a dark hooded sweat shirt.
