Brian Riley was crowned Mr. Bronco 2013 during Rancho Bernardo High’s annual pageant for male senior students.

Ten students competed on Friday before their fellow students, family and friends. They were judged on formal wear, talent, swimsuit and ability to answer questions.

For winning the title, Riley won a $500 scholarship. His future plans are to attend the University of San Diego, where he received a scholarship, and play football for the Toreros.

The Audience Choice award and $250 scholarship went to Nicolas Ballecer, who plans to continue his education at California State University San Marcos.

Trophies were presented to Michael Helson for winning the talent portion of the competition by playing his saxophone and Tyler Swanson for being named Mr. Congeniality.

The annual contest is organized by Rancho Bernardo High’s Associated Student Body.
